I have a question that will hopefully be an easy one. I have set up jSpell Evolution on both a test server and a production server. It is a Windows 2003 Server installation; our Intranet uses Windows authentication, but I have granted anonymous access to the entire jSpell folder.
jSpell works perfectly fine on the TEST server every time for every user that has tried it.
On the PRODUCTION server, it works fine 50% of the time, but for the other 50% of the time, the user gets an IE login prompt. Regardless of what they do with that prompt, jSpell does not work after that. For IE7 users, nothing happens; for IE6 users, it seems to hang the browser. Once the problem occurs, jSpell will never work for that user until they start a new browser session (after which the 50% again rule applies). (To clarify: the problem occurs about 50% of the time for all users, as opposed to every time for 50% of the users.)
It seems quite likely to be a permissions issue, but I cannot see what is different in the IIS settings between the two servers (anonymous access for jSpell files is configured the same).
Any advice / theories / recipes?
Thanks!
